- What I built
- I built it end to end: the question bank, the generator, the print layout, and the QR answer key.

Background
The problem
Putting together a good quiz is an evening of work: finding questions, checking answers, balancing difficulty, and then making it look like something you would hand out.
The idea
A generator that does the whole job: pick a theme, get a finished quiz with mixed question types, a print-ready layout, and a QR code that reveals the answers when you want them.
Key decisions
- Decision 1
Finished, not editable: the output is ready to use rather than a template to fiddle with.
- Decision 2
Free with no signup, so the value is obvious before anything is asked of you.
- Decision 3
Print first. A quiz night runs on paper, not on everyone holding a phone.

How I built it
- 01
Built a question bank deep enough to generate without repeating, now past 1400 questions.
- 02
Added 15 question types, including map questions and emoji puzzles, so a quiz has variety without extra work.
- 03
Made the output a print-ready PDF, since the real use is paper on a table.
- 04
Put the answer key behind a QR code on the last page, so players check themselves instead of the host reading answers aloud.
What came of it
What I learned
- Defaults are the product, most people never touch settings.
- Live feedback turns a quiz from a form into an experience.
Next steps
- AI-generated questions from a topic or document.
- Team spaces and shareable results.
