- What I built
- Brand and product design, the tone of voice, and the shop experience, from first impression to enquiry.

Background
The problem
Handmade craft brands often look either amateur or generic online. It's hard to sell something personal and made-to-order in a way that feels as warm as the product itself.
The idea
An e-commerce experience with genuine warmth, a clear brand voice, made-to-order at its heart, and a look that feels handmade with care, not mass-produced.
Key decisions
- Decision 1
Warmth over polish, the brand should feel handmade.
- Decision 2
Lead with made-to-order as the differentiator, not a footnote.
- Decision 3
Quality signals up front: handmade, made to order, and every piece unique.
How I built it
- 01
Built the brand voice around care and uniqueness: every piece takes the time it takes, and yarn, pattern, colour and size are chosen with the buyer.
- 02
Designed a warm, calm storefront that showcases the pieces.
- 03
Made 'made to order / describe what you want' central to the flow.
What came of it
What I learned
- For emotional products, tone and imagery are the product.
- Made-to-order is a strength, lean into it rather than hiding it.
Next steps
- Seasonal collections and gifting.
- A real checkout, once made-to-order pricing can be settled before payment rather than after.
Business potential
Handmade and personalised goods carry strong margins and loyal customers. Clear paths to made-to-order commissions, seasonal drops and gifting.
Happy to walk through the thinking, the trade-offs and where it's headed next.
