Ghost Games
Ghost Games is Ghost with a glow-up. Add one letter at a time, never be the one to complete a real word, and outplay AI opponents or friends in quick, tense rounds. Super Ghost lets you add at either end, which changes the whole calculation.

- What I built
- Game design, the AI opponents, and the neon look and feel that makes a decades-old word game feel brand new.

Background
The problem
Ghost is a brilliant classic word game, but it usually lives on paper or in your head. There is rarely anyone to play on demand, and no easy way to make it harder when you want a real challenge.
The idea
An always-on, beautifully made version of Ghost: fast rounds you can win in seconds, AI opponents that give you a genuine game, friends to challenge, and tougher Super and Ultra modes when you are ready.
Key decisions
- Decision 1
A strong AI opponent, so there is always someone to play.
- Decision 2
Short rounds that fit a spare minute.
- Decision 3
Difficulty modes so the game grows with the player.
How I built it
- 01
Nailed the core Ghost round: add a letter, never finish the word.
- 02
Built AI opponents that actually play well, not just at random.
- 03
Added Super and Ultra Ghost modes for players who want more.
- 04
Gave it a bold, glowing identity so it feels like a real game.
What came of it
What I learned
- A great classic plus a strong AI opponent is a complete product on its own.
- Personality and polish make a simple game worth returning to.
Next steps
- Head-to-head rounds with friends and matchmaking.
- Leaderboards and daily challenges.
Business potential
Word games have huge, loyal audiences. A polished Ghost with credible AI opponents can grow by word of mouth, with cosmetics and a no-ads upgrade as clean revenue.
Happy to walk through the thinking, the trade-offs and where it's headed next.
